Spring 10x10 Day 6

capsule wardrobeAlex HoodComment

The Spring 10x10/Unfancy Remix is happening so I’m blogging five days a week to show you guys how I'm styling my outfits for the challenge that Lee and Caroline are hosting!

If you want to see the 10 pieces I’m wearing for this challenge, you can find 'em right here.

OVERVIEW

Another simple outfit? Yeah…I just couldn’t help myself! I was starting to run out of ideas at this point in the challenge. I was really stretching to come up with something comfortable enough for a Wednesday that I’d spend on my feet without becoming an outfit repeater.

Anyone else think of Lizzie McGuire when they hear the phrase “outfit repeater”?

Anyway, I noticed that I hadn’t styled my mockneck top yet and decided to go for it. I’m pretty pleased with how this turned out.

WEATHER

I woke up to a chilly and cloudy morning which made getting dressed easy. It was a mid-60’s day with a chance of rain so I wore my jacket just in case I got too cold.

WHAT I DID

Between work, home and women’s group, I was inside for a most of the day. I knew I’d be on my feet at work so I wore my Converse. They’re just more comfortable for walking around and standing in than my booties.

STYLING DETAILS

This is another simple outfit but I think the little details keep it from getting boring. I rolled my jeans twice to get a different look at the hem and to keep my jeans from sitting inside my high tops. I like to leave a little peep of skin between my jeans and shoes to create the illusion that my legs aren’t too short for my jeans (which at 5’1” they usually are). Another way I like to fake my way to longer legs is to tuck my tops into my jeans, which I did here also.

How do you get around a styling slump when you hit one?
